Hi, I'm Tobias -
21, always in good spirits and always on the move.
I study E-Commerce in Würzburg, originally from a small town in the Northern Black Forest near Stuttgart, and since February 2026 I've been working as a freelancer building websites and tracking setups for small businesses. Not because I had to - but because I eventually realised I want a job that works from anywhere in the world.
Straight into the world
after school.
Most people celebrate after finishing school, take a holiday, or just sleep. I was on a plane to Thailand three days later. For six weeks my friend and I explored the country from north to south - with a backpack, no real plan, and the feeling that life was just getting started.
Back in Germany I worked for six months, saved money - and bought a Benelli TRK 502X. No car, no hostel, no tour operator. I rode a motorcycle solo to Iceland. Five weeks on the road, three of them on the island itself. Tent, camping stove, muesli in the morning, nuts on the way, dehydrated food in the evening - and a sleeping bag that was officially rated for Iceland but clearly hadn't been informed.
There were two days of non-stop rain in the Westfjords where literally everything was wet - the tent from the inside, the clothes, the mood. I booked the cheapest guestroom I could find for two nights, dried my tent and kept riding. Stopping wasn't an option. And shortly after, when the sun came out for a few days in the Westfjords - I was at a point so quiet you could hear absolutely nothing. No wind, no animals, no plane. Just me. I'll never forget that feeling.
Two months later: South America - this time with my cousin. Brazil, Peru, Bolivia. Machu Picchu at five in the morning, helicopter flight over Rio, favelas, and the Uyuni Salt Flats. Including food poisoning I caught in the middle of a three-day desert tour. It was rough. I pushed through anyway. But I didn't really have a choice... and that doesn't count as an excuse!

Brazil, Peru, Bolivia. Machu Picchu at 5am, a 3-day tour through the Uyuni Salt Flats that I pushed through despite food poisoning.
Someone who doesn't stop
until it works.
Outside of studying and work I spend a lot of time outdoors. Road cycling, football, fishing - and of course everything web-related. Honestly, that doesn't feel like work to me. When I'm working through a problem and it finally runs, that's just as satisfying as a good day on the bike.
He never gives up. He works on a problem until he's solved it - even when it looks completely hopeless at first.
What else defines me: I tell you directly when something isn't working or is outside my area. I don't sell hot air. You always know exactly where you stand with me.
Working from anywhere -
that's my goal.
Travelling showed me what I actually want. A job that's location-independent, solves real problems, and that I enjoy. Freelancing is my path there.
Thailand, Iceland, South America taught me: the world is too big to sit at one desk. My job should travel with me.
Someone who doesn't give up with a wet tent in Iceland doesn't give up on a tricky GTM setup either. I see things through.
I don't do this just for the money. I enjoy what I do - every new project brings new problems I haven't encountered before.
